A fully-armed Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed into a warehouse in California on May 16, 2019 and the incident was caught on video.
The F-16 was flying a NORAD alert mission, so it was fully armed. However, due to operational security (OPSEC) reasons, the Air Force cannot say exactly what munitions it was armed with.
The area was evacuated and secured until an unexploded ordinance disposal (EOD) team could arrive and reduce the threat. The munitions were taken to a safe area and detonated.
Workers were present inside the facility when the plane crashed, and some reported non life threatening injuries.
The pilot was able to eject safely before the crash and is in good condition. The aviator reported an emergency before ejecting, but the specifics of the emergency have not released, and the incident is likely still under investigation.
