Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., employed a Chinese Government spy as an “office director” for 20 years.
The Chinese Ministry of State Security operative was, at first, reported to be Feinstein’s driver during her time as head of the intelligence committee, which means he would have been within inches of her person during countless phone calls and conversations regarding national security.
In a Mercury News interview, a former CIA field officer described how a spy would have acted in such a situation: “We would have the driver record on his phone all conversations that Feinstein would have with passengers and phone calls in her car. If she left her phone, iPad or laptop in the car while she went to meetings, social events, dinners, etc., we would have the driver download all her devices. If the driver drove for her for 20 years he would probably would have had access to her office and homes. We would have had the source put down an audio device in her office or homes if the opportunity presented itself. Depending on the take from all of what the source reported, we would use the info to target others that were close to her and exhibited some type of vulnerability … we would have had a field day.”
Yet, the “driver” role was actually an attempt at downplaying the situation by Feinstein as the Chinese spy, now identified as Russell Lowe, a Chinese American, was actually an office director, meaning he was actually personally meeting with ambassadors and attending and taking part in high profile and sensitive government meetings. To clarify, the Chinese spy actually held significant clout within our government.
From an espionage standpoint, China has proved itself to be a relevant and constant threat to national security and state secrets. In 2015, the U.S. government databases holding the personnel records and security-clearance files of 22.1 million federal employees and contractors including their friends, families, and professional references were hacked by China. Basically anyone who has ever worked for, or applied to work for the U.S. government was now known to China. The hacks resulted in the deaths of dozens of CIA assets within the Chinese regime.
Additionally, the Chinese J-20 and J-31 stealth aircraft are said to be built largely off stolen F-35 JSF data compromised and collected by Chinese intelligence workers.
What’s confusing is that the same Americans that are screaming their heads off about Russian collusion and interference are absolutely silent about Feinstein basically handing China decades worth of secrets and privileged information. What gives?
