On August 13, 2018, members of the U.S. Coast Guard received the call that a 76-year-old woman aboard the cruise ship Grand Princess required serious medical attention. The woman, who was suffering from Kidney failure, was rescued about 50 miles southwest of Coos Bay, Oregon by members of the U.S. Coast Guard who were flying operations in an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter.
Once evacuated from the ship, and safely aboard the MH-65, the woman was transported to a nearby medical facility in the Bay Area at 12:50 p.m.
No further information is available on the condition of the woman, but the video below shows the full medical evacuation and rescue operation as it was recorded by the camera systems on the MH-65 Dolphin. This video comes to us just a few weeks after the Coast Guard conducted a similar operation to medically evacuate a 66-year-old stroke victim from the cruise ship Carnival Horizon.
