Dallas Police Use EOD Robot To Kill Sniper During Deadly Attack

During last nights deadly attacks against the Dallas Police Department, an EOD robot became an effective anti-sniper tool.

After an hours long stand-off with one of the attackers in last nights assault on Dallas Police, things got unconventional. Police cornered one of the suspects, and spent hours negotiating with the man. The negotiations did not go as planned, and ultimately they failed.

The attacker was quoted as saying that he was angry about the recent police shootings. He then continued on and said that he wanted to kill white people. More specifically, he wanted to kill white cops. After it became clear that the attacker would not turn himself in, the police escalated the situation.

They used one of their explosive ordinance robots, strapped with some explosives, to kill the attacker. During an official statement about the event the Dallas Police chief David Brown said,

We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was. Other options would have exposed the officers to grave danger.

This is the first confirmed lethal use of a robot in American policing.
