Videos and photos circulating on social media are showing heavily armed cartel members patrolling Mexican streets while wearing scary clown masks during broad daylight.
According to an article on Borderland Beat, the sicarios shown in the video are of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) and were operating in Camargo, in the state of Tamaulipas, within a mile or two of the United States border.
They brandish various weaponry for the camera while listening to narco anthems and drinking margaritas. The video demonstrates the dire lack of security on the US southern border as these gang members have no fear of military or law enforcement. They are the ones that control the area.
From the video we can see a Springfield XD series pistol held by the cameraman, an AK-style rifle, and a large heavy sniper/anti material Barrett. Other photos floating on social media shows them in possession of a short-barreled AR-style carbine and body armor and ballistic helmets.
