Breaking: Active Shooter Takes Hostages at Napa Valley Veterans Home

Breaking: A gunman walked into the Veterans home in Yountville, Ca this morning- firing shots and taking multiple hostages according to Napa County Sheriff. The veterans home is the largest in the US, housing around 1,000 patients. The scene is contained by law enforcement and the situation is currently ongoing.

At around 10:30 PST this morning an armed man purportedly wearing body armor entered the Veteran home of California in Yountville – firing shots and taking at least three hostages. No injuries have yet been reported and local law enforcement has the scene contained. Information is limited from authorities as the incident is still ongoing.

According to the Veterans home of California website the facility was,

“Founded in 1884, VHC-Yountville is the largest veterans’ home in the United States, offering residential accommodations with a wealth of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for independent living. Some 1,000 aged or disabled veterans (both men and women) or World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom now live at the home.”
