Highlights from this year’s European Best Sniper Team Competition – with footage from the aerial “high-angle shot” portion and the “water shot” taken from a rubber raiding raft. 36 teams from 19 nations participated in the five-day event.

Over the past few days (July 28th – August 2nd), the 7th Army Training Command’s hosted 36 teams from 19 nations in its annual Best Sniper Team Competition at Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany. Designed to,
“…test competitor’s marksmanship skills, physical prowess, and mental agility while engaging in teambuilding competition. The teams are Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States.”
The video begins with the “Water Shot” event, capturing the Latvian and Belgian sniper teams making their way onto a small water source in a combat rubber raiding craft and taking turns engaging targets from the unstable platform. The second clip covers the Lithuanian sniper team during the High-Angle Shot event; engaging targets from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter operated by10th Combat Aviation Brigade. Both events are realistic scenarios and reflect common situations faced by modern sniper’s around the world.
The final standings put a team from Sweden as this year’s overall winner, while another Swedish team took fourth. The team from Slovenia took second place; and Germany rounded out the top three; Canada came in fifth.
