Belgian Para-Commandos partnered with Afghan National Army (ANA) troops slug it out in a running gun battle with the Taliban in northern Afghanistan.
Purportedly occurring in Afghanistan’s northern province of Kunduz in the summer of 2009, elite troops of Belgian’s Para-Commandos and their partnered ANA allies conduct a fairly large operation in contested Taliban territory. The video kicks off quickly with some Afghans fleeing from the patrol, followed by immediate and intense enemy fire pinning the troops to the deck. Now fully engaged, a running battle between the two sides begins. Likely occurring over several hours, a series of intense clashes and brief lulls repeats and is only broken by regular Close Air Support (CAS) missions that straf the enemy positions. The video final concludes with an aerial gun-cam that obliterates a Taliban fighter.
