The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, better known as the Stealth Bomber, is an American heavy strategic bomber featuring stealth technology and was originally designed to penetrate the Soviet’s dense anti-aircraft defenses during the Cold War.
The aircraft can carry up to eighty 500 lb JDAMs or up to sixteen B83 nuclear bombs and can range up to 6,000 nautical miles without refueling. Twenty aircraft remain in service with the Air Force and will operate until 2058. This recently released footage by Northrop Grumman gives a rare look at the aircraft in flight.
