A recent video release by al Nusra Front shows a somewhat organized armored assault into the town of Barnah, Syria in which tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are used under the cover of artillery fire.
The jihadists attempted to overrun another Syrian government-held town, Zaytan, at the same time. According to a popular Nusra member twitter account, both assaults ended up failing, as they were pushed back by Iranian Quds Force and SAA units.
Even though the attacks failed, the video clearly shows a well-equipped, organized fighting force that will continue to pose a significant security threat to forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al Assad for the foreseeable future.
