From the killing of Osama bin Laden to #skypenis, the US Navy is the backbone of our world dominance. Beyond the SEALs, fighter pilots, and the Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCC), the Navy may not have a whole lot of jobs that would be considered “bad ass.”
Yet, when you look at a massive aircraft carrier or a battleship you begin to understand that each one of those seemingly “little” jobs is an extremely important part in the machine. It’s a perfect demonstration of the saying, “The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”
While the Army could most likely get away with paying Filipino contractors to do all the soft skill jobs (for a fraction of the price) and still operate just as well… it would be hard for the Navy to operate without actual sailors. These sailors are a part of something impressive and something great.
