Soldiers from 2-12 Infantry Regiment, and a Marine Corps Embedded Training Team get ambushed by the Taliban while on patrol.

Taliban fighters ambush a joint patrol of Marines and Soldiers working with an Afghan National Army platoon in the Korengal Valley. The complex ambush is initiated from two different locations with RPGs and small arms fire.

The Soldiers, and Marine Corps Embedded Training Team, along with their ANA counter-parts respond by establishing a base of fire, and maneuvering to a stronger position. From there, they continue the fight over the course of an hour until air support and accurate mortar fire ends the ambush.
