MH-60 Black Hawk and MH-6 Little Bird helicopters from the US Army’s Elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) conducted urban training exercises in downtown Los Angeles last month. The “Night Stalkers” showed off their highly impressive skills while zipping through the streets of LA, inserting and extracting Special Operations Forces (SOF) with pin point precision.

Nope, these aren’t scenes from Hollywood’s next big budget action flick. These are the real-life pilots from the US Army’s 160th SOAR conducting training exercises on the streets of downtown LA. More menacingly and aptly known as the Night Stalkers, they showed off their truly impressive skills to the stunned residents throughout Los Angeles and Long Beach for nearly a week in early February.

According to a statement released by the LAPD, “This training is coordinated with the appropriate state, county, and city officials as well as private property owners. Safety precautions have been implemented to prevent unnecessary risk to both participants and/or area residents and property.”
